General Motors and the United Auto Workers have agreed on a four-year deal.
While details are expected to be released Monday, the UAW says it includes a $5,000 singing bonus, improvements to profit-sharing, new jobs, and better health benefits. However, the Associated Press reports, "it will increase the company's fixed costs by only a small amount." Members are expected to vote on the plan in the next week.
The contracts for Chrysler and Ford are still being negotiated.
These are the first talks since GM and Chrysler took government aid to make it through bankruptcy protection in 2009.
