(AP) -- The Associated Press reports the Michigan House is trying to change workers’ compensation laws.

The report says they’re taking the matter to the House Commerce Committee Tuesday, but a vote isn’t expected just yet on the plan.

The AP says business groups want to, “clarify what's defined as an injury sustained while working or as a result of a job.” The group hopes the new bill would reduce the number of workers’ comp. lawsuits.

Unions against the proposal tell the AP that it “could become harder for employees who are injured to get certain benefits.”
