A Saginaw man is accused of breaking into as many as sixty homes and businesses and stealing some of the strangest things.
Right now, that man is behind bars and police are sorting through hundreds of stolen items
Police say 41-year-old Ledell Mushatt took anything he could carry quickly and easily.
They add, he has expensive taste and was even spotted using a Cadillac as his getaway car.
Police say Mushatt broke into several medical businesses in Frankenmuth in early June.
The take?
"Anything that wasn't bolted down," says Don Mawer, Frankenmuth Police Chief.
The alleged thief did not take TV's or computers, instead police say he snatched 50 to 60 name brand eye glass frames from the Family Eye Care Center.
Police didn't have much to go on.
"We did collect some (forensic evidence) from of our scenes, but it was sparse to say the least," says Mawer.
There were other break-ins too, including ones from Bay County, Genesee Co., Oakland Co., Livingston Co., and other Saginaw Co. locations.
A witness saw the burglar and his car. That description matched another that led police to homes in Bridgeport Township and Grand Blanc.
Mawer says, "Pieces of our property that was stolen out of our medical facilities were found in both of those locations."
Eventually, police say they caught Ledell Mushatt in the act.
It's a bit of justice for the Resler Animal Hospital where the accused burglar got into the garage but got away with nothing.
Thomas Resler from Resler Animal Hospital says, "I just hope that some sort of correction is made and he sees the light or something like that and changes his ways, but you never know."
Police say the public should try to keep burglars from wanting to break into your home by making it looked lived in.
They recommend cutting the grass, picking up the newspaper, and using an alarm system if it's available.
