Groups wants EFM repeal on 2012 ballot

Those opposing Michigan's emergency manager law are trying to get the measure on the 2012 ballot.

Activists have a few more months to submit more than 161,000 valid voter signatures to take the issue to the polls.

The group says it has verified 130,000 signatures.

The coalition called Stand Up for Democracy says the Republican-backed law approved earlier this year is a power grab by lansing politicians.

Republicans say it's a worst case scenario measure to help keep local governments from financial ruin.
