The Better Business Bureau says it’s important for shoppers, both online and in-store, to be aware of those “too good to be true” deals this holiday season.

Online shopping is increasingly growing in popularity. However, the BBB warns that it is important to make sure the website you’re shopping with is legitimate.  One way they say is simple to do so is to make sure that the URL has an “https:” It is important to note that the “s” stands for “secure.”  Also, be sure to check their privacy policies and return policies.

When you’re shopping in stores, be sure to ask about the return policies. Some stores have adapted to new policies that could require returns identification from the person who purchased the product.

The Better Business Bureau says it is important to watch out for those deals that seem too good to be true.  When in doubt, call the company directly or contact the BBB.
