Half-a-million dollars worth of damage
RICHLAND TOWNSHIP -- A log cabin home in Richland Township sustained more than half-a-million dollars in damage after a fire ripped through it late Sunday night.
The residents of the home were able to get out safely thanks to smoke detectors going off.
Crews battled the flames for hours, and Monday afternoon the house was still smoldering.
The homeowner told fire officials he has insurance.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
