Surveillance cameras captured robbery on tape
BURT -- Two suspects are in custody in connection with the armed robbery of Gabe's Grocery in Burt Sunday evening.
"Very safe area. That's one of the key points. Its so far from Flint or Saginaw that they come in and in and out," said owner Gabe Shoup, who thought the robbery was a joke when he first got the call.
Surveillance cameras captured footage of a man entering the store wearing a black ski mask and gray hoodie, holding a handgun.
The suspect proceeded to knock the female clerk behind the counter to the floor, before making off with the cash register drawer.
The suspect and the driver of the car he rode away in were arrested near M-13 and Vienna Rd. by Michigan State Police, a short time later.
