GENESEE COUNTY -- Forecasters predict parts of mid-Michigan could get anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of snow overnight.

NBC25 spoke with  several mid-Michigan area school superintendents who say they will be hitting the streets around 3:00 a.m. Friday morning to check road conditions and bus routes.

"Safety is of the upmost importance. We have to think about kids that are standing on corners waiting for buses to arrive and whether cars can safely access corners," said International Academy of Flint Director Art Wenzlaff.

Wenzlaff said the school has not had to use any snow days to date. He said a majority of the kids and staff are actually look forward to a day off.

"I'm ready for it because we get to sleep in and take it easy for a day," said Anita Moore, whose children attend the International Academy of Flint.
