Consumers says there is a problem at the Dort substation
Consumers Energy confirms a power outage affecting nearly 10,000 customers in Genesee County. A spokesperson says they are re-energizing the Dort substation and expect to have power back on in all areas by 11:30pm. The outages are scattered across the county and police are urging drivers to use caution as there are multiple traffic lights out.
NBC25 viewers have reported power out in and near Clio, Mt. Morris, Otisville, Davison, Genesee and Flint with power flickers reported as far west as Flushing and as far north as Frankenmuth. Consumers Energy says they expect to have estimates for power restoration and more information for us soon. We will have an update on NBC25 News at 11.
