Genesee County officials say nearly 1700 homes and businesses were damaged by a massive storm earlier this month.  At least 800 of the homes were located in Flint Township.

Officials from around the region and FEMA surveyed the damage last week after Governor Rick Snyder declared a state of emergency for the county.

It's not clear at this time how much money the victims could receive frmo the federal government.

The storm started May 3 and dumped more than five inches of rain in and around Flint.
