FLINT -- One of the nation’s most successful venture capitalists came home to Flint Saturday, to tell graduates, failure isn't such a bad thing.

Robert Kagle, who was raised by a single mom in Flint, then went on to co-found Benchmark Capital, spoke to graduates at his alma mater, Kettering University.

Kagle’s firm helped launch eBay and Instagram.

When it comes to failure, Kagle says "If you're not striking out, you're not swinging for the fences.”

More than 240 students graduated from Kettering Saturday.
