MT. PLEASANT -- Hundreds of people gathered on Sunday afternoon to honor the memory of four-year-old Carnel Chamberlain.  The memorial service was held at the Soaring Eagle Casino.

The family spokesperson said the memorial was about "celebrating Carnel's life".

Authorities found the body of the boy's burned remains last month buried at his house on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation.

No one has been charged yet in Carnell's death.

The mother's boyfriend, Anthony Bennett, is jailed on charges he assaulted the boy weeks before.
