RICHFIELD TOWNSHIP -- A Richfield Township horse farmer faces sexual assault charges after police say he lured children to his farm through a Craigslist ad.

Douglas Guffey, 57, faces seven counts of criminal sexual conduct.

Police say Guffey sexually abused four different children during his time as a trainer at Advance Farms Inc.  Guffey owns the farm and advertises it on Craigslist as a place to mentor kids.

The mother of one of Guffey's alleged victims spoke with NBC25 Monday.

"I knew something wasn't comfortable about him and his farm," she said.

She said Guffey put his hands on her daughter, and she later filed a police report.  She told NBC25 Guffey admitted to her that he has been accused of child abuse in the past.

"It raised a red flag but he is a very smooth talker and I had blinders on," she said.

Guffey was arraigned on Sunday in Genesee County Court.

The case is still open to investigation by Richfield Township Police.

Stay with NBC25 for more details as they become available.
