MONTROSE TONWSHIP -- The search for a missing 55-year-old father ended on Friday after his body was discovered at a cornfield in Montrose Township.

Twenty-one-year-old Patrick Mikes Jr. pleaded not guilty Thursday during his arraignment and was ordered jailed until his next court hearing Aug. 27.

Authorities say they believe 55-year-old Mikes Sr. was killed in his Troy basement. His sons said he left on his bike July 27 when they reported him missing two days later.

Police previously said they recovered the victim's blood and DNA in the family's home.

They say the victim's vehicle was used to transport and dispose of his body.
