FLINT TOWNSHIP -- The Bridge reaches out to many troubled people in the community. They help through church services, martial arts and addiction programs. Now the church and businesses within the plaza are being shut down for not meeting building code.

“Having the building shut down is going to affect that. It’s really causing us to lose some of the tools that we have available are going to be restricted by  having the building shut down,” said pastor Steve Bentley.

The church is planning on acquiring a new location. Whether that acquisition happens before the repairs to the building are satisfactory for fire code will depend on the speed of construction.

"Its not going to stop us from meeting together as a family, and its not going to stop us from doing ministry in the community not having a building, said Bentley."
