SAGINAW -- After hearing that police arrested three men who they say are responsible in the shooting-death of her niece, Yolanda Cope is speechless.

"My family is overwhelmed words cannot express the way we feel right now just so glad that my niece Layla will have some justice behind her murder," says Cope.

Saginaw police arrested three men who are allegedly responsible for the shooting death of six-year old Layla Jones.

Layla was shot and killed Wednesday night. Her father, Shawrone was also shot and remains in the hospital.

With the help of tips from the community, Saginaw Police, detectives, State Police, and other agencies worked Friday into Saturday conducting six search warrants and ultimately making the three arrests.

Police say they apprehended two of the suspects at an area hotel.

The three suspects are from Saginaw and are currently being held in jail.

Police continue to investigate and urge anyone with more information to give them a call.
