Residents are outraged over a recent decision to remove volunteers from the Genesee Animal Countrol Department Shelter.

The Board of County Commissioners listened to those concerns on Wednesday.

The orginization is split in half, last week the director Walt Rodabaugh let go his entire volunteer staff.  He says they've been mistreating his four employees.

One thing both sides agree on, is the need to have volunteers on staff, and without the 19 extra sets of hands, the animals are suffering.

"What i see most times is dogs without a water dish let alone water and feces in their cages," said volunteer Geralyn Brown.

"These vounteers are needed," said Rodabaugh.   "They dont need to disrupt the service provided here by the shelter."
