BAY CITY -- North Road Elementary school in Fenton will be closed all day Friday, Sept. 14.The school will be used as a staging area for the thousands of police officers who are heading to Fenton for the funeral of Police Officer Patrick O'Rourke.

Meanwhile, Bay City Central High School is also be closed Friday due to an unexpected staff death.

MLive reports, Pete Karoly, 58, an English teacher at Bay City Central High School, died Thursday, his wife, Deb Karoly said. He was found unresponsive at the couple's Essexville home. Karoly is a soccer coach at the school.

The school released a statement indicating..."Bay City Central High School will be closed Friday September 14, 2012, due to the unexpected death of a staff member.  Grief counselors will be at Bay City Central High School tomorrow at 8 a.m. for staff and students to help them deal with this unexpected loss."

A Facebook posting says students are signing a soccer ball for the late coach today. A memorial is planned at the school in a courtyard on Saturday.
