Midland county search and rescue is brushing up on their skills as well as teaching others.

Michigan volunteer defense force and the Tittabawasee Township fire department joined Midland for training.

The group said their training is important to best provide for the community.

"Well one of the reasons we started is because of cutbacks not only to police agencies but also different programs," said Richard Harnois of the Midland Search and Rescue Team.

The team is always looking for volunteers. To sign up, contact the Midland County Sheriffs Office.
