SAGINAW -- A Fenton man goes before a judge after being accused of breaking into homes and stealing guns and electronics -- all to finance a heroin addiction.
The Saginaw County Sheriff's Department says the crimes happened in Saginaw County.
Aron O'Callaghan allegedly used his girlfriend Ashley Goold as a lookout while he rounded up guns and electronics in the houses.
"If you see these two folks walking down the street, you don't think they're criminals," said Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel. "You don't think they're armed and dangerous. This is a wakeup call for all of us. And if you see something and think it isn't right, it probably isn't."
According to Federspiel, one victim saw Goold in his driveway, got a bad feeling and called 911.
O'Callaghan was charged on eight counts, including criminal enterprise, felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree home invasion and safe breaking, which holds a life sentence if convicted.
O'Callaghan will be back in court Oct. 19 for a pretrial hearing.
Grand Blanc police and the Flint Area Narcotics Group assisted in arresting O'Callaghan.
