GRAND RAPIDS -- An accident in Grand Rapids claims the life of a Bay City teenager.
Michigan State Police are investigating the deadly crash on I-96 that killed 17-year old Autumn Elwell who is from Bay City.
Police say it happened around 12:30 Saturday morning.
Officials say Elwell was a passenger in a car driven by her sister.
Police say the driver attempted to backup on I-96 after she missed her exit and was then hit by a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the car suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not hurt.
Police say alcohol is not a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
