Michigan voters overwhelmingly reject all five proposals that would have, if passed, amended the state constitution. Dealing with issues ranging from collective bargaining to building a new bridge to Canada.
Proposal one, that would given the governor the ability to appoint emergency financial manger's and give them sweeping authority was rejected by voters, 52% to 48% with 93% of precincts reporting.
Proposal six, the bridge proposal was one of the most watched ballot measures through election night. It called for changing the constitution to require a statewide vote on plans for any new international crossing. It came in response to the proposed construction of a bridge between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
Proposal two, which would have amended the state constution to inculde collective barganing, was also defeated.
