ARGENTINE TOWNSHIP -- A convoy of a dozen local firefighters are en route to New York with firefighting and medical equipment to donate to fire departments affected by Superstorm Sandy last week.

Arrowhead Police Emergency Vehicle Equipment, LLC organized the drive this week in an effort to collect supplies, and owner Steven Mason said the response was overwhelming.  Several local fire departments donated firefighter gear, Hurley Medical Center and local EMS agencies donated medical supplies and local businesses donated clothing, water and other necessicities.

The group of Genesee County firefighters expect to visit affected fire departments in Breezy Point, Staten Island and Rockaway and help clean up stations this weekend.

Mason said he would like to thank the public and local fire departments, EMS agenceis, hospitals who donated supplies.
