SAGINAW (AP) -- The U.S. flag at American Legion Post 439 in Saginaw Township will be lowered to half-staff at 9 a.m. Sunday during a ceremony honoring fallen soldiers.

28 veterans' organizations also will gather at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Saginaw County Veterans Memorial Plaza in Saginaw.

That ceremony will include a wreath-laying.

Some area businesses also are offering free food and discounts for veterans bearing proof of their service in the U.S. military.
