KAWKAWLIN TOWNSHIP (AP) -- Authorities say they arrested a 71-year-old man who reportedly drove about 13 miles into oncoming traffic on Interstate 75 in Michigan before being stopped.

Michigan State Police responded Sunday night to reports of a vehicle heading north in the southbound lanes.

Police say the first report came in from Bay County's Frankenlust Township and the driver was found in Kawkawlin Township, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit. Police say he told them he was heading from Saginaw to his hometown of Alger. He's expected to face a reckless driving charge Tuesday.

No injuries were reported.

Troopers say southbound drivers repeatedly flashed their headlights at the wrong-way driver and had to take evasive action to avoid colliding with his vehicle.
