FLINT -- Fire damaged a historic business that's been a mainstay for nearly 40 years.

Flint firefighters responded to the Union Printing Company at North Saginaw and Harriet streets shortly after noon Sunday.  Officials say they were able to get the fire under control fairly quickly, but the damage was significant, charring one side of the red brick building.

The cost of the smoke and water damage, an estimated $37,000.

"It's been there forever,” Tajuana Stokes said.  “I grew up in this neighborhood and it's always, always been there.  Ever since I was a little girl.  This building tore down, and that building tore down, but the Union Print has always been there."

Arson investigators says the cause has not yet been determined.
