Michigan State Police say around 100 agencies in 20 counties will have extra patrols over over the long Thanksgiving weekend to ensure motorists are driving safe and sober this holiday.

Police officials say Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel times of the year and is urging mortorists to designate a sober driver before drinking or encouraging the option of taking a cab or bus home.
