According to family members, two women and a baby who were killed in a Bad Axe fire on Wednesday, died of smoke inhalation.

The cousin of 23-year-old Melissa Perkins tells us the autopsy report revealed that the two 23-year-old women and young child died of smoke inhalation.

Bad Axe Police were called to an apartment about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday and saw smoke and flames pouring out.

Rothe says firefighters entered the apartment, put out the fire and found the three bodies.

He identifies the dead women as Audrey L. Hogan and Melissa M. Perkins and the girl as Abreeona Perkins.

Rothe says a state police fire marshall investigator and Huron County prosecutors and sheriff's deputies are involved in the probe.

The chief has not released information on the cause of the fire.
