Yo Santa. Want to get into shape and help a local charity at the same time? The Santa Run is for you.
More than 2,000 people, all dressed in Santa outfits will hit the streets of downtown for the 3rd Annual Santa Run/Walk. It's a benefit for the YMCA of Greater Flint.
The head of the Y, Janet Tweddle said on NBC 25 Today the event provides much-needed funding for the organization. They raised about 30 thousand dollars last year. The race isn't timed. It's more of a family-fun free for all, with wagons, ballons and yes, thousands of Santas. The race begins at the YMCA building on East Third.NBC 25 is a proud sponsor of the race. To The annual Holiday Parade will begin on Saginaw Street at 1 p.m. following the race.
