FLINT -- Another notable automotive pioneer is making his debut along Saginaw Street in the vehicle city.
Organizers with "Back to the Bricks" unveiled a statue of David Buick Saturday.
Buick joins the likes of Louis Chevrolet becoming the second statue to be placed along Saginaw Street to commemorate the city's rich automotive history.
Buick's great-grandson, Douglas Boes, made the trip in from California for the reveal.
Boes presented the Sloan Museum with a brass cannon that David Buick used in the 19th century.
"It kind of ties in to David Buick's early development of stationary and marine engines which was his major contribution to the automotive industry." says Boes.
The statues are part of a program developed by the Back to the Bricks committee in Flint.
Two more statues are already funded and expected to be unveiled in 2013.
