FLINT -- Help is on the way for families in need wanting to provide a brighter Christmas this holiday season.
Today marked the first day to sign up for the Genesee County Toys for Tots program.
There were long lines as folks waited to register for items to be placed under the tree.
Need is expected to be higher this year.
"With the line as you seen out front, the demand is getting higher and higher and we are going to try to furnish every child a toy to have for under the Christmas tree on Christmas day,” said Gary Stanley.
Sign-up runs through Friday this week and then Monday through Friday next week.
