FLINT -- 300 people are breathing a sigh of relief after the Martus Luna Memorial Association handed out boxes of food this morning.

14 pallets of food were handed at the Hispanic Tech Center in Flint. Nearly one hundred cars lined the streets waiting for volunteers to pack their car full of food for the holidays. Those benefitting today say the food giveaway is what they needed and the Matrus Luna Association is happy to help.

"We need it because we are hard hit in this area. A lot of people got their food stamps taken away and stuff like that. We are just trying to help people out who need it during the holidays,” said Art Luna.

Volunteers braved the cold until all the food was handed out and this year’s success is sparking ideas for next year.
