LANSING -- The state added money to the debit cards of 85,000 Michigan food assistance recipients who temporarily went without aid this week.

Michigan’s Department of Technology and Budget said all the impacted cards were restored and loaded with the food assistance benefit as of eleven this morning. Recipients with ID numbers ending in “0” discovered money wasn’t on their cards Thursday as expected. The issue was cause by an employee error.
