Flint online auction raises $176,000

FLINT -- ***Update***

Flint's first online auction was a big success.

Orbitbid.com officials say $176,000 was generated during Tuesday's bidding.

The company described the auction as a frenzy.

Many items remained opened well past their scheduled closing times because of the ongoing activity.

The City of Flint hopes to raise at least $100,000 through an online auction.

Buyers have the opportuniy to purchase tractors, trucks, lawn equipment, office furniture and even a zamboni from the cash-strapped city.
