FLINT -- The long-vacant Chevy in the Hole site is another step closer to being transformed into a "green" space.

A $1.6 million federal grant is expected to pay for environmental studies and cleanups.

The Genesee County Board of Commissioners approved the grant agreement this week.

The Genesee County Land Bank will manage the funds.

The work plan includes planting trees and native vegetations and adding walkways.
