LANSING -- In an effort to help with child well-being, a new report from the kids count in Michigan was released Thursday morning to give people a better idea of how children are being raised in our state.

For the first time this year the data book produced numbers for every county in Michigan. Three local counties showed up at the bottom of the list, including Clare, Roscommon and Lake counties.

The annual Kids Count in Michigan Data Book reports that the number of children living in families with incomes below the poverty level grew by 28 percent between 2005 and 2010.

For a look at how your county scored and compare the results to the rest of the state you can visit the kids count website by clicking here.
