US-23 now OPEN north- and southbound

MUNDY TWP -- 4 people had to be extricated from their cars with 14 sent to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries after a 20 to 40 car accident on US-23.

The accidents took place in Mundy Township just south of the Hill Road exit at around 12:30 this afternoon.

The Genesee County Sheriff tells NBC25 that MTA buses were brought in to move the uninjured to a Mundy Township firehouse, however family showed up and they were not transported.

US-23 north- and southbound are now open.

Injuries included some broken legs, other injuries were not as serious.
