20 counties, including Genesee and Saginaw will see increased police presence
MID-MICHIGAN -- The Michigan State Police will be increasing their patrols on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in order to crack down on drunk drivers Super Bowl weekend.
Last year on Super Bowl Sunday the MSP arrested 166 people for drunk driving; of those arrested, 52 had a blood-alcohol content of .17 or higher.
Two people also died in crashes on that same day last year and both were alcohol-related.
“If you are caught driving drunk, you will be arrested,” said OHSP Director Michael L. Prince. “Michigan law enforcement officers don’t play games when it comes to drunk drivers so make the right call and pass the keys to a sober driver.”
