FLINT -- The Back to the Bricks State committee removed the state of Louis Chevrolet from its base in the stature plaza on Saginaw Street Friday afternoon.

Chairman of the Back to the Bricks committee, Al Hatch, indicated that the removal was a precautionary move necessitated by winter conditions that caused the state to become partially detached from its base.

Hatch says, “He’s going south alright – about a mile south – to the Back to the Bricks office on South Saginaw Street.

The statue will be reinstalled early in the spring.
