FLINT -- Flint firefighters let a vacant home burn down this evening.

They responded to the fire in the 1600 block of Bennett Street shortly after 6:00 PM.

The battalion chief tells NBC25 the home was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.

He says the home was on the city's demolition list, so firefighters just made sure the fire didn't spread to neighboring homes.

No word on how the fire started.
