CLIO -- If you ventured outside Friday evening you noticed something different.
It was a blinding light in the sky that people had thought was gone on an extended vacation.
The sun returned today in greater amounts than in the past week or so, and will continue to linger through the weekend as well.
Although temps are still below average (see the 7-day forecast), Mid-Michigan should get a healthy dose of vitamin D to ease the woes of having what seems to be an endless winter.
Normally this time of year has temps in the low to mid 40's.
For now, and the past several weeks, temps have fluctuated in the 30's and touched the 40's only a couple of times.
Snow has also been a factor although the melting snowpack helps to ease the drought Michigan saw last summer, the midwest and plains are still within heavy drought conditions.
We do have a chance at snow on Monday from a system building to slam the Ohio Valley, but the snowfall should remain as a dusting to possibly an inch in the southern counties like Genesee.
After this, high pressure takes hold for the week and alternating periods of sun and clouds persist until the weekend.
Still watch for a stray flurry or two, but not on a large enough scale to factor in to the longterm forecast.
Stay warm, spring is coming, just a bit later than Phil the groundhog expected.
