DETROIT -- Chysler has big plans for jobs expansion throughout the state of Michigan.
More than 1,200 jobs are coming to three Detroit area plants. Chrysler is investing more than $200 million in engine plants in Detroit and Trenton.
The company says the hirings will allow Chrysler to move forward with its plans for a more fuel-efficient engine that will eventually become standard on all Chrysler models.
In addition to the job additions in Detroit, about a 1,000 of the jobs will be at the Warren plant.
That facility produces a newly-redesigned Ram pickup and will add the third shift in March.
