GRAND BLANC -- Anderson and McGrath Elementary schools in Grand Blanc are set to re-open on Monday after being shut down Friday due to a suspected Norovirus outbreak.

Genesee County health officials are encouraging people to take extra precaution following the outbreak.

The norovirus carries flu-like symptoms but is not related to the flu.

The virus typically induces nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramping.

Symptoms may also include low-grade fever, headache and muscle aches.

Health officials are asking the public to use good hygiene to prevent the spread of the contagious virus.
