SHIAWASSEE TOWNSHIP -- Authorities have identified the drowning victim as 12-year-old Kyesha Monae Pascal of Flint.

Crews searching for a missing 12-year-old girl recovered her body at 9:34 PM Saturday. Her name is being withheld until her family has been notified.

Dive teams and rescue crews from several Shiawassee County fire departments are searching girl who fell into the Shiawassee River off the Shiatown Dam in Shiawassee Township Saturday afternoon.

A Shiawassee County Sheriff’s deputy tells NBC25 a 12-year-old girl was walking along the Shiatown dam near the intersection of Bennington and Bancroft roads, when she fell into the river.  Crews along with the Michigan State Police dive team have been searching for several hours.  They plan to work into the night. 

The American Red Cross is on hand.  A victims' services unit has been called to help the girl's family.
