SAGINAW -- A senior from Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy faces a felony charge after he allegedly put “bodily fluids” in mouthwash and passed it out to students as a senior prank.
Seventeen-year-old Jordan Drake faces one count of adulterating or misbranding a food item, which carries a maximum of four years in prison.
Saginaw Police confirming to NBC25 that Drake mixed semen with mouthwash.
"The student went way too far. That was ridiculous. That was ridiculous," said Charlotte Cronkight.
"I don't think he should be in jail for it, but I think he should have some kind of punishment.”
Police tell NBC25, Drake has a clean record. School records show he was a high achiever, winning science fair and quiz bowl awards.
Drake was suspended after an internal investigation.
A lesson, some parents say, that no prank is worth risking a student's good standing.
"When I was in high school, some classmates went over to the high school and spray-painted the building. They weren't able to walk. So I think that pranks are not allowed, you shouldn't do it, it's not worth it,” said Nikia Coleman.
A schools spokesperson says Drake has been suspended and will not walk during commencement ceremonies next Wednesday, but will be able to graduate. He was released on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 5.
