DETROIT -- A young people's group plans an anti-violence rally this weekend at a Detroit church.

Youth Voice says the event starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at Gospel Tabernacle on the city's northwest side.

The Youth Rally Against Violence will feature essays by Detroit teenagers about violence in their own families and the community and how they have tried to overcome it.

Youth Voice says it has chapters at Detroit's Cody, Central, Southwestern, Henry Ford, Martin Luther King, Osborn and Denby high schools.
