MID-MICHIGAN -- A proposed drain project spanning three Mid-Michigan counties is moving forward despite opposition from area landowners.
The project calls for making improvements to about twenty miles of Misteguay Creek, which runs through Genesee, Shiawassee, and Saginaw counties.
Property owners would face an assessment for the cost of the work.
"We live on a fixed income and they keep adding more and more taxes to us the little guy," Richard Taylor of Flushing said.
The drainage board says it's looking at ways to cut costs.
