A Michigan solider with ties to Saginaw has died in a car accident in Washington State.
According to a Tacoma, Washington newspaper, officials at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord say 35 year old Army Spc. Ryan Abbott of Grand Rapids died last Thursday after his car crashed into a base guard shack.
Spc. Abbott had been at the base about two years.
It's unclear what caused his car to crash into an empty guard shack just before 5 a.m.
