DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors Corp. says it is considering a sale of its parts business ACDelco as part of its effort to raise cash. GM has said it is seeking to raise about $15 billion through the end of 2009. The automaker says asset sales alone are expected to raise between $2 billion and $4 billion.

ACDelco provides light-duty maintenance and repair parts and is based in Grand Blanc. GM says the unit employs about 600 people worldwide. The automaker said Wednesday that investment bank Merrill Lynch is assisting with the sale. GM is also considering selling its Hummer brand and its technical and manufacturing center in Strasbourg, France.
