NEW YORK (AP) -- A bankruptcy judge says Delphi Corp. can have more time to file and make changes to its plan to emerge from bankruptcy protection without the input of its creditors. Judge Robert Drain in New York approved a motion from the Troy, Mich.-based auto supplier Thursday, giving it until the end of January to file its plan while staving off alternative proposals from creditors. The company previously had a deadline of Oct. 31.
Drain also approved a Delphi request to allow members of its creditor and equity holder committees to take part in discussions about how the company's bankruptcy exit will be financed. Delphi has been operating under court protection since Oct. 8, 2005.
